The Rolex Cosmograph Daytona 116520, introduced in 2000, marked a significant milestone in Rolex’s history by transitioning to an in-house automatic chronograph movement, the Caliber 4130. Encased in 40 mm of stainless steel, it features a sleek design with a choice of black or white dial, each adorned with three sub-dials for chronograph functions and a signature red “DAYTONA” label. The stainless steel bezel is engraved with a tachymeter scale, facilitating speed calculations—a nod to its motorsport heritage. Paired with an Oyster bracelet, the 116520 combines elegance with durability, offering water resistance up to 100 meters (330 feet). This model was produced until 2016, after which it was succeeded by the 116500, which introduced a ceramic bezel. ​
